The phenomenon commonly known as Sea Sparkles has appeared on the Tasmanian shores, and some of the photos captured of them are out of this world.
The Sea Sparkles emit an electric blue glow, which makes the coast look like something out of a science fiction movie. Scientifically, the glow is caused by bioluminescent organisms called Noctiluca scintillans, these, when disturbed by waves or currents, flash a blue light. With so many of them in the water, the tiny cells are seemingly illuminating the entire coast.
