Everyones dream is to have their own modern private getaway with perfect views and peaceful seclusion. New Zealand-based graphic designer Jono Williams took this dream to a whole other level by going ahead and building his dream escape, three years and $NZ75,000 later, he’s ended up with the “Skysphere”.
Jono's original plan was just to build a treehouse, however he decided this wouldn't be enough and opted for the 10m tall Skysphere instead. The Skysphere is solar-powered so when the sun goes down, the lights keep going, of which there are many..
If this wasn't a cool enough retreat as it is, most of the mechanical elements of the house are controlled by an Android device connected to an IOIO development board and in turn, voice controls. So the lighting, security and most importantly the beer fridge is all mobile controlled.
If you’d like to find out more about the Skysphere, Williams has a website up with photos of the construction process and other details.
