Hyperkin, an LA-based video game peripheral company, set out on Reddit 3 days ago to jump on the April fools day bandwagon, they stated that a GameBoy accessory for the iPhone that plays actual gameboy games is on its way.
Because of the timing of the statement, no one really took the claim seriously, however just a few days later they released a press statement to confirm that it's actually true.
The Smart Boy will be utilised by a downloadable app. There will be noticeable upscaling, a cheat database, and save states as well. The problem?.. At the moment it's only planned for the iPhone 6 Plus, but Hyperkin have stated that more phones will follow.
You may be thinking, "Surely it'd just be easier to use an emulator?" and I'd have to agree, however nothing will ever compare to the feeling of playing Pokemon, Zelda and Tetris on the greatest handheld console of all time.
