Have you seen "Her"? The main character in the film uses a tiny wireless earpiece to talk to Samantha, his semi-virtual friend (voiced by the incredible Scarlett Johansson). I was very impressed by the idea of a compact communication device that you can wear in your ear all the time. Thus, I was very glad to learn that a Swedish startup is looking to bring a similar invention to the market.
According to their Kickstarter page, Earin are the world's smallest wireless earbuds. They look absolutely beautiful, with their sleek bodies and simple construction. They bring to mind a pair of traditional in-ear headphones, but sans the confusing mesh of wires. They were designed with music lovers in mind and lack all the unnecessary functionality modern earbuds are often packed with. There are no sensors or microphones, just high-quality speakers that let you enjoy music without any distractions.
The earbuds come with a stylish capsule that also functions as a charger. Just place them in the capsule and they will be charged automatically. Tiny batteries that Earin earbuds were equipped with should be good for about 3 hours of listening to music, but that time doubles if you place them in the capsule.
If everything goes well, Earin earbuds will hit the market in January next year. If you pledge £119 or more, you will get them at £40 lower than the suggested retail price of £159.
