We've come across many great minimalist posters, but those designed by Michał Krasnopolski are different. As you can see below, they give the word "minimalist" a whole new meaning by reducing the main themes behind many popular films to their core essentials.
Krasnopolski's designs feature typical film iconography and modern aesthetics. They are based on a two-by-two gridded template, with shapes being purely geometrical and often as simple as a single line or circle. This style, however beautiful and visually pleasing, is a double-edged sword. Due to extreme simplicity of some posters, it is difficult to recognize films they were designed for. Even the author himself admits that some ideas, like the imaginery behind "Full Metal Jacket", are "a stretch".
Nonetheless, Krasnopolski's works are a joy to look at. Ultra minimalist, colourful, elegant, and - first of all - imaginative, they pose a creative challenge to every film buff.
