Tech companies are looking more and more into turning objects in our home into gadgets. Nest are already doing it with the thermostat, with the company being acquired by Google for $3.2 billion, Google know the next big thing is turning your home into gadgets.
This multitouch coffee table may just be another step into turning ordinary household furniture into huge gadgets. It comes in 1080p 46-inch or 32-inch sizes and is powered by Android. But unlike your average Android tablet, this table has some real horsepower under it. It is powered by a 3.7Ghz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive and is capable of 60 different touch points at any moment.
Something like this would be great in the living room where you can use it while watching TV, or the family can gather round it and use it together. It'd also be a great educational tool for children as tablets already are.
The only issue that may arise though is the price - it starts from a whopping $6,950. But of course as with any new tech, it's always very expensive at the beginning. But in five years time this may be something we see regularly and becomes natural.
