LG has announced its first tablet to join the family of Google Play Edition devices - the G Pad 8.3 running stock version of Android 4.4 KitKat.
The slate sports an 8.3-inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel IPS display with an impressive small bezel and great viewing angles, a quad-core Snapdragon 600 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot and a 5-megapixel camera. The body is made of aluminium and measures only 8.3 mm in thickness. Nonetheless, engineers managed to equip the tablet with a powerful 4600 mAh battery that should provide long-life between charges. The tablet is modern-looking and compact, with sleek lines and curves that make it comfortable to hold in one hand.
If you live in the United States, you can buy the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition for $349,99. Availability in other countries has not yet been determined at this time.
