One product demoed at CES will affect many new mobile devices coming out within the coming months, that product is Gorilla Glass 2.
The current generation of Gorilla Glass is exceptionally strong, scratch resistant and impact resistant - all thanks for Corning's innovations. They have managed to create a glass that is flexible to absorb impacts and very thin to allow for a screen to provide it's desired impact. Other procedures in the manufacturing process are unknown except for the use of very high temperatures, a bath in molten salts and robots. Chances are if you own an Android phone it will have a Gorilla Glass touch panel.
Anyway, Gorilla Glass 2 promises to provide a better experience being 20% thinner (now only 0.8mm) to provide a higher, more vibrant image. While still retaining it's legendary strength and even improving upon it.
