First Quad-Core Android Phone? | HTC Edge

This may be the first quad-core Android device to get released on to the market and it is coming from HTC. The device will apparently be called the HTC Edge.

The device will be a high up in the premium band of devices, featuring the best specs you can get.

  • 4.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1280×720 (HD)
  • Around 10mm thin
  • 1GB RAM
  • Backlit 8-megapixel camera, 28mm, f/2.2 lens
  • AP30 Tegra 3 from Nvidia, 1.5Ghz Quad-core
  • 32GB built-in storage
  • Beats audio may be part of the package

The device is expected to come in early 2012 and may just be the first quad-core device to hit the market. Other manufacturers may have plans for their own quad-core devices but HTC can’t seem to hide their devices. The device may not even be called the HTC Edge when it is released because HTC are known to change the names of their devices when they’re officially announced.

HTC are staying ahead of the game however everyone hopes they don’t forget to upgrade the OS on their older devices.
