Netflix have confirmed that they will be launching their streaming only service in the UK and Ireland in early 2012. The video-on-demand service has become hugely popular in the US however in the past year, operations in the company have been a bit haywire, with the company changing prices and not being able to make up their mind on what to call their DVD renting service.
Upon launch, Netflix members from the UK and Ireland will be able to instantly watch a wide array of TV shows and films right on their TVs via a range of consumer electronics devices capable of streaming from Netflix, as well as on PCs, Macs and mobile tablets and phones.
The service will be competing against the already very popular LoveFilm and other services such as Sky and Virgin Media.
Netflix have not confirmed a price for the service yet but people in the states pay $7.99 a month so here in the UK you should be paying around £5 a month. Not a bad price at all.
