As expected, Apple has announced the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max at its yearly September keynote - let's take a dive into what was announced.
The iPhone 11
The iPhone 11 is the direct replacement to last year's iPhone Xr, the most popular phone in the world. It features a 6.1-inch LCD display and a design that's similar to last year's model.
The main upgrades this year come via the cameras. The iPhone 11 features a dual-camera system that's fitted with an ultra-wide camera, 2x optical zoom, Night Mode settings, and 4K video capabilities. There's also a new mono portrait effect, and portrait mode will now work on pets.
Additionally, the iPhone 11 features Apple's latest A13 Bionic processor, an additional 1-hour of battery life, an “enhanced Face ID” and an IP68 water-resistance rating.
Colour options for the iPhone 11 include purple, white, green, yellow, black, or red. Prices will start at $699 (64GB) and launch on September 20th. Head here for more on the iPhone 11.
The iPhone 11 Pro & Pro Max
In addition to the announcement of the iPhone 11, Apple also announced two other models of iPhone that are more aimed towards professionals.
Made from surgical grade stainless steel, the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max are higher-end handsets that house three cameras on the rear - a 12-megapixel wide camera, a 12-megapixel telephoto cam, and another 12-megapixel lens for ultra-wide photography. As well as the improved cameras from their predecessors, they are also capable of an extra 4-5 hours battery life.
Both of the Pro models come with a Super Retina XDR display, one 5.8-inches with a resolution of 2436 x 1125, the other 6.5-inches with a 2688 x 1242 pixel resolution (the Pro Max).
The iPhone 11 Pro starts at $999, while the Pro Max starts at $1,099. Colour options include Midnight Green, Space Grey, Silver and Gold. Like the iPhone 11, the Pro models will also launch on September 20th. Head here for more on the iPhone 11 Pro models.
