Amazon has launched its very own web browser called 'Internet'. Targeted at emerging markets where high-speed connectivity is limited - designed to use as little storage and data as possible compared to its competitors.
'Internet' is similar to apps such as ‘Facebook Lite’, ‘Gmail Go’ and ‘YouTube Go’. These apps are faster and lighter versions of the original ones. Standard features are included, but they take up less space to cater to areas that don't have an efficient network connection.
Amazon states its new browser is completely private and does not collect data from its users.
It's currently only available to Android users in India whose phones run on Android 5.0 and higher, however, it will surely be released to an international audience soon. Check it out here.
