1. Widen your skillset

If you're in the creative industry there's never a limit on how much you can learn, you can separate yourself from the rest by putting yourself out there and learning something new

2. Strike a better work/life balance

For both your mental and physical health, it's extremely important to have a good work/life balance, especially if you're known for being a workaholic. Don't be so consumed by your work, and concentrate on the things that matter.

3. Be more productive

Remember, don't work harder, work better. You don't need to work yourself into an early grave to be successful, create schedules, to-do lists, and goals so you can get the most out of your workday.

4. Step out of your comfort zone

As a creative, it's important to not plateau and to step out of your comfort zone every now and again. Encourage more work that makes you feel uncomfortable, and you may end up surprising yourself.

5. Start and commit to a side project

Having all your focus on one goal can be wearing and can lead to you procrastinating. Starting a side project can keep your head in the game and keep your mind open while still smashing your main goals.

6. Read and learn more

This clearly isn't just design related, but taking some time out of your day to read can really benefit you in the long run. It doesn't even have to be related to the field that you work in, if it interests you, read about it.

7. Take some time away from your computer

For 2018, it may be a good resolution to become less digital and more analogue, this could be hard depending on what creative industry you're in, but taking some time away from your computer allows your brain to reset and will work out for the best in the long run.

8. Share your knowledge

Arguably one of the most important resolutions on the list, you should always be looking to share what you learn and to help other people in the same field as you, and you never know, you might learn something in return.

9. Say no

No matter what field you're in, always be prepared to say no. As much as it's a good idea to step out of your comfort zone and to say yes to things that are going to broaden your skillset, you need to be able to say no to things that won't benefit you in any way.

10. Spend more time with people that help you

This goes for everybody - spend more time with people that make you better as a person and as someone in the creative industry. Surrounding yourself with positive people will make you more positive as a person, and will, in turn, make you a nicer person to be around. Furthermore, having a positive mindset will make your work and personal life better, and will reflect better in what you do.
