Over 4,000 Photographs From The D-Day Invasion of Normandy Are Now Online

Flickr account PhotosNormandie has just uploaded over 4300 photos of the Normandy Landings of June 6, 1944 – the decisive day of World War II.

The collection is part of a collaboration project that began in 2007, when thousands of photos from the Archives Normandie 1939-1945, the Municipal Library of the City of Cherbourg-Octeville and the American archives were combined to create an archive for users to complete, comment, locate and identify photographs, making it possible to better document the Normandy Landings archives.
