Everything You Need To Know About The 2017 iMacs

Yesterday was Apple's annual WWDC event, and arguably, their biggest announcement was a whole host of new iMacs, including the all-new iMac Pro. Here's everything you need to know about the new devices.

  • All updated models will include Intel’s seventh-generation Kaby Lake processors.
  • Apple calling their new displays "the best ever", offering 500nits of brightness (43% higher than previous versions).
  • The 21.5-inch model now can be configured up to 32GB of RAM, while the 27-inch goes up to 64GB.
  • The new iMacs are getting two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports.
  • The entry-level 21.5-inch iMac will have an Intel Iris Plus 640 GPU, while the 4K 21.5-inch models will get Radeon Pro 555 and 560 graphics cards.
  • The 27-inch 5K model will have a choice of Radeon Pro 570, 575, and 580 graphics cards, topping out at 8GB of VRAM.
  • Unfortunately, the design of the iMacs is pretty much unchanged.
  • The 21.5-inch iMac will start at $1,099 and the 4K 21.5-inch model at $1,299.
  • The updated iMacs will be available later today.
