Mobile photography and videography is a technology that has come on leaps and bounds in the last 10 years or so, to the point where huge companies have shot ads on phones. But for some, the technology that comes with phones out the box nowadays isn't good enough. That's where the DxO One comes in, and it's genius.
There is no shortage of companies that will try to sell you add-ons to improve your phones own lens, the DxO One is different. The world's smallest 1 inch camera sensor comes packed with a massive 20.2 megapixels, on the back is a small, touch-enabled menu screen for swiping between modes, and on the top is a two-stage shutter button.
The DxO One attaches via the lightning port, and once it's attached the camera can swivel up to 60 degrees forward and backward. Because the device connects through the lighting port rather than Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, it makes the general experience unbelievably fast. The corresponding app opens up as soon as the One is plugged in.
You can find more detailed specs of the DxO One on their website.
The downside? Well it's going to cost a rather hefty £499 ($599). DxO Labs are taking preorders now and will start shipping in September.
