Apple have announced an all new MacBook that they're simply calling "MacBook".
This new MacBook has a new design but looks very similar to the MacBook Air which Apple is still selling. It has a 12-inch retina display which has a resolution of 2304x1440. It weighs only 2 pounds and is 24% thinner than the 11-inch MacBook Air.
As well as the new thinner design Apple have also included a new keyboard design and a new pressure sensitive trackpad they're calling the "Force Touch trackpad".
They keyboard is now even shallower and features a new mechanism under each key that Apple are calling the butterfly mechanism.
The new butterfly mechanism apparently makes each key more stable and more precise. It also means thinner keys.
Apple has also updated the innards to now have the new Intel Core M processor. The laptop also has all day battery life just like the current line of MacBook Air's.
Apple are now embracing common ports and have implemented the all new USB-C that will be coming in most new future devices from all manufacturers, not just Apple. However they have also controversially removed every other port from the notebook. Everything is now done through the one USB-C port including power, data transfer, DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA capabilities.
The new notebook is shipping on the 10th of April. It will be available in the standard silver and new colour options including space grey and gold.
