Did you enjoy taking things apart as a child? If you're anything like me, you couldn't stop yourself from disassembling toys, calculators, old TV sets, and other machines that your parents wanted to throw away.
There's something beautiful about the complexity of the inner workings of those devices and Kevin Twomey, a talented artist from California, seems to share this point of view. He has published a series of stunning photographs picturing the insides of old calculators.
The project is simply called "Calculators" and originally came about when the photographer was asked to document a client's collection of old calculators. Twomey ended up with a series of beautiful photographs that raise the most ordinary parts of the machines to an almost iconic level. Check them out in the gallery below.
