Amazon is looking for a new way to take control of multimedia in your living room. As a follow-up to Fire Phone and Fire TV, the company has announced the Fire TV Stick - a tiny device designed to compete with Google's Chromecast as a go-to hub for digital content.
The Fire TV Stick is basically a miniature version of the Fire TV. Rather than putting it next to your TV set, you can plug the stick, log into your Amazon account, and enjoy thousands of films and TV episodes (up to 1080p HD), songs, apps, and games. It comes with a dual-core processor with VideoCore4 GPU on-board and 8 GB of storage. Along with improved Wi-Fi performance, the internals should provide seamless viewing experience.
The stick is sold with a dedicated remote for just $39. Not convinced yet? Amazon is offering a free 30-day Prime trial with every purchase. When it comes to home entertainment, boxes are out and sticks are in - and the Fire TV Stick is the best offer on the market, especially if you're deep into Amazon's services.
