It is obvious that the original iPhone changed the world of technology, but have you ever wondered what would mobile phones be like if it was never created? A German website Curved Labs asked itself this question and came up with an interesting vision of two iconic cell phones - Nokia 3310 and Ericsson T28 - reinvented for modern times.
Both phones feature refined design. They were given a visual overhaul and equipped with touchscreens. While the 3310 is running Windows Phone OS, Curved Labs decided to give the T28 a taste of Google's Android software. But what is incredible is that both devices have monochromatic displays. This nostalgic move is most likely meant to emphasize the difference between today's smartphones packed with state-of-art technology and simplistic cell phones from the last decade. It is also a good chance for the young generation to see what phones used to look like in the past, when color LCDs were still a rare sight.
All in all, it is really weird to look at Windows Phone's distinctive tile-based interface displayed on a monochromatic screen. The gap between old and new phones is only emphasized by a model of the iPhone which was included in all images for reference.
