Another day, another cool office we wish we were working in. This time it is Wieden+Kennedy's 50 000 square feet New York huqadquarters - a place where creativity has plenty of space to bloom.
American firm WORKac designed the office to stimulate collective work. Individual work spaces have been compressed to embrace the spirit of teamwork and allow the people to engage in various creative activities together. The architects have decided to move away from the recently popular "office as a playground" idea in favour of a professional workplace, where creative process and results play the first fiddle.
Therefore, the architects have introduced an array of diverse lounges, where employees can sit on comfortable furniture and have informal discussions. There are also traditional conference room for official meetings, a multi-purpose gym, a kitchen, a library, and an outdoor park.
The office is very spacious and lightsome, with large windows and glassed-in panels that create the impression of transparency. Wooden accents correspond with the industrial character of the building, its white-painted walls and unique staircase designs that connect the office's numerous floors.
