Ben Young is a Sydney-based artist who has spent the last ten years exploring the mysteries of sculpting with glass.
His sculptures are built using many layers of hand-cut glass, which he carefully puts together to create shapes of waves and interpretations of shore landscapes. The glass has a beautiful colour of the sea and skillfully treated edges of the panels give the impression of dynamics and motion. We personally adore the sculpture with the lighthouse, where through the transparent glass we can see the corrugated bottom.
Since he is a passionate surfer who grew up on the northern coast of New Zealand, it is obvious that Ben Young takes inspiration for his works from the beauty of nature. Combined with his unique set of skills, they are an amazing decoration for every modern interior.
