Street View is probably the coolest features Google's Maps has to offer, but the company is working to make the experience even more immersive. The newly unveiled Night Walk is a project that takes you for a beautiful night walk through the streets of Marseille.
The tour is fully interactive, which means that you can look around in every direction, zoom in and out the view, and click at landmarks and buildings as you pass them by. You do not walk alone, though, as you're guided by voices of Julie and Christophe. They share stories and interestings facts about things and places you see as well as talk about the diverse culture of France.
In addition to breathtaking 360-degree panoramas that Google captured at night, Night Walk uses a range of sounds to build the mood and allow you to dive deep into the city. Whilst walking, you hear ambient sounds of the streets, indistinct conversations in the background, and quiet guitar and jazz music.
If you're at work today, Google's Night Walk is a great and relaxing way to spend your lunch break. It's fun and beautiful, but at the same it may teach you a thing or two about Marseille.
