Netflix has ended Q1 with a whopping 48 million paying members worldwide, very impressive for a video subscription service. This also means they made a very nice $1 billion, however they may start making much more.
The company has announced that it will be raising the price of its subscription service by €1 from €6.99 to €7.99. This means in the UK and US we may see a price rise of a pound or dollar. But right now this price rise will be for new members only. Existing members will still be on the cheaper plan for another two years.
The price rise isn't much at all considering what you get for your money. But it's a move that should make Netflix a lot more money.
