Traditional art and modern media may seem like two completely different things, but Nastya Nudnik, an Ukrainian creator, decided to build a bridge between them.
In the collection named Emoji Nation, the artist is bringing heritage in touch with modernity. Nudnik analyzed situations pictured in several classical paintings and added distinctive elements of media interfaces in order to give them a new, surprising meaning as well as to criticize our obsession with social media, web, and technology. She's basically reinvented them by mixing various themes, allowing for deeper and more current interpretations. The result is an amusing and sometimes ironic, but overally terrific act of creativity and unconventional thinking.
