GLUCK+, the architectural firm behind the Tower House, clearly took inspiration from the famous L-shaped Kranhaus buildings in Cologne, Germany. It most definitely is not something they should feel ashamed of as they put the idea in great use. Their creation is just as bold and amazing.
Per the designers' words, the Tower House was built as a stairway to the treetops. Actually, when you look at it from the right angle, it may appear like an artificial, yet very impressive model of a tree. Its shape bring the letter L to mind as the house consists of two rectangular elements attatched to each other. The main living space is located in the horizontal part, while a roomy and lightsome staircase is held in the vertical tower.
An outdoor roof terrace deck above provides views of the lake and mountains in the distance and the dark green, back painted glass exterior mirrors the landscape and admixes the house with the surrounding woods. Only at night, when everything goes silent, the light puring out of the windows and small glimmers that dot the cable rail of the stair glow in the dark like fireflies.
