The developer of Flappy Bird, Dong Nguyen, has followed through with the threat he issued yesterday - removing the viral hit from the Google Play Store and App Store.
He tweeted yesterday that he would be taking down the game as he "cannot take this anymore". He most probably couldn't take all the criticism from some people about the similarities between the game and Mario.
The game was making an amazing $50,000 every day. But it looks like Dong didn't care about having lots of money. All he wants is just to be a small indie developer making a few games of which he can live off.
Flappy Bird is dead.
