If you've ever dreamed of living in the mountains, you'll love the Butte Residence by Carney Logan Burke Architects. From the terrace of this charming house you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic views of the Teton Mountain Range and National Parks in Wyoming, USA.
The residence was named after the surroundings as it is located on a hill in the trees. Architecturally speaking, it's a building organized in a series of volumes designed to embrace the landscape and take advantage of the topography. The gently curving roof profile follows the soft slope of the hill as well as creates a natural shelter from the wind. Every volume features a number of large windows and forthright construction to provide a maximum sense of openess.
Creators of the Butte Residence cared about blending it with the landscape as much as possible. Apart from the shape of the main structure, they've used a wide range of natural material and textures for finishing both the elevation and the interior of the house. They went for a mixture of inartificial charm of wood and chromatic accents that add a touch of winsome modernity.
The inside is very spacious and leaves plenty of room for thoughts. High ceilings and sparse, yet elegant decor combined with spectacular views of the mountains is an infinite source of inspiration. If I were an artist, a few nights in the Butte Residence would most likely result in the most fruitful and creative phase in my career.
