The Box House designed by Zouk Architects is a good-looking private residence that catches attention of every passer by. It combines obvious wealth with simplicity typical for modernistic architecture.
The construction is seamless and made of concrete. The house was named after the shape of the suspended slab and roof parapet, which basically look like boxes stacked one on another. The front wall of the main living structure was replaced with a large window, which allows for great air ventilation and penetration of sunlight.
Below the ground level, there is a garage with an illuminated drive-in, and a swimming pool in the backyard. There is no garden or larger area for sport activities, but in exchange the building itself is considerably spacious.
The impression of airiness comes from interior design. Architects decided for simplistic furniture and almost no decoration. While both walls and flooring are either white or cream, staircases and cabinets are made of light-hued wood. Thanks to the chosen palette of colours, the interior seems to always be full of light and leaves plenty of room for thoughts and inspiration.
