Susanna Cots‘ charming apartment in Barcelona, Spain, is a meeting place for minimal design and coziness. It was created for two book lovers, allowing them to spend their evenings reading in comfort and warmth.
According to the designer, the main artery of the apartment is a wooden lacquered sheet that wraps the rooms up like a protective skin. Admittedly, the large amount of wood used for flooring, integrated cabinets, and some parts of the ceiling harmonize with white-painted facility chambers and furniture and some black accents, such as lamps, abstract sculptures, and bathroom.
Books - arguably the most important element of the decor - are placed on numerous shelves in the living room, which is the heart of the apartment. In the nearby, there's a couch for reading by the fireplace or watching TV in comfort.
Thanks to large and conveniently located windows, the suite is lightsome and airy. This is particularly noticeable in the only workspace to be found in the apartment - a pair of beautifully minimal chair and desk, with a Mac on it and a window right behind it. Sun fills the room with light, which certainly can make up for a lousiness of just another Monday morning.
