Kickstarter gave birth to yet another successful and brilliant iPhone accessory. Galileo, a smart robotic dock, has received more than $700,000 in funding and is now available for purchase.
People behind Galileo wanted to create a docking station that would serve multiple purposes. To achieve this, they went to their drawing boards and reinvented the dock as it is. Galileo looks nothing like other cradles. It sports modern, unified design that goes along nicely with the iPhone.
However, Galileo's real quality is hidden inside its sleek housing. The dock can be controlled remotely from any place in the world. With just a swipe of your finger, it can be rotated, tilted or set to track a moving object. Galileo can be used as a mount for taking amazing spherical panoramas and time-lapses, a holder for long-distance video chats or a motion detector.
The dock is supplemented by a free companion app called Sphere. For more information and purchase options, visit creator's Kickstarter page.
