Taiwan-based manufacturer HTC has taken wraps off the gold variant of its popular One handset. The device will join the existing silver, black, red and blue options in the hope to attract wealthier consumers and users who care about having a phone that stand out from the crowd. With the new coating, HTC One looks more fetching than ever. It's essential to note, that the device differs from the exclusive version made of real 18-carat gold released earlier this year and features only a gold-coloured paint job.
As for internals, nothing has changed. The smartphone is equipped with a gorgeous 4.7-inch 1080p display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU, 2GB of RAM, Android Jelly Bean operating system, stereo speakers, built-in Beats audio enhancements and a 2300 mAh battery. It is said to benefit from an Android 4.4 KitKat software upgrade in January 2014.
Gold HTC One will be made available across multiple European regions through “a number of partners”. Solid launch dates were not provided, but the device should arrive before the end of the year.
