If you're a Windows 8 user, pay a visit to the Windows Store - there's a huge software update waiting for you. Windows 8.1 was released yesterday for every device running Windows 8, tablets and hybrid PCs included. Microsoft has added a number of improvements and new features to the new version of the operating system. Among introduced changes are built-in Bing search, enhanced user interface, tight integration with Microsoft SkyDrive cloud service and redesigned multitasking view. Moreover, Windows 8.1 brings back the Start button (however not the Start menu) and refinements in every single built-in app.
You can download the update for free from the Windows Store. The installation process is said to be pain free and simple, but if you're coming from Windows 8.1 Preview, it may be tricky. Installation method depends on how the Preview was previously installed and it is recommended to backup data before the upgrade. Other users shouldn't worry as the Windows 8.1 update retains all desktop and Windows 8 apps.
