Facebook has just updated its official app with some welcomed changes that improve the user experience. After testing the new app on over eight million Facebook users, very discreetly, they have now made it live on the App Store.
The new app now has a second bar that goes across the bottom. This bar provides quick access to the news feed, requests, messages and notifications. There is a more button that also gives you more options such as photos, friends, pages and such.
The design has also been adapted to either fit iOS 6 or iOS 7. So if you're using iOS 7 you'll see a flat design like the one above. But if you're still on iOS 6 you'll get a more gradient filled style.
Facebook isn't the only social network to update its app to match iOS 7, Twitter has also tweaked its official client. Not much has changed in terms of functionality, you just get a much flatter style.
Various other apps are receiving updates that are optimised for iOS 7. If you're using iOS 7 and have automatic updating on, you'll get these updates as soon as they're available.
