Projection mapping is nothing new, it's been around for years. Very simply, it's a projector that displays images on a surface but cleverly manipulated to create illusions and a surreal environment.
However creating a very well thought out and complex projection is tough and requires a ridiculous amount of attention to detail. Just like a magic trick, when a small part of a trick goes wrong, the whole trick is ruined.
Box takes projection mapping to whole new level. Instead of using static surfaces, this demonstration works with moving surfaces. It uses very clever large scale robots that move the main two surfaces in all sorts of directions and angles. But to add to the whole illusion, lighting has also been configured to make the experience a much more immersive one.
