Sony has beat Microsoft at its own game by giving their new PS4 console a cheaper price tag, the ability to play used games, is not locked to any region and has an upgradeable hard drive.
You may have heard that the Xbox now charges users to play used games - there was a huge backlash over this with gamers being very upset of the fact that they couldn't share their games with their friends. Sony has obviously recognised this and is taking advantage of it. PS4 users will be able to share games as much as they like. It also means that the used game market for the console will continue to thrive.
Sony has confirmed that the PS4 will not be region locked. This means gamers will be able to bring games over from other countries and play them on their PS4. Before if you were to get a PS3 game from the states and try and play it on a UK PS3 it would not work - Sony has abolished this lock.
Another feature which is the ability to upgrade the hard drive yourself. Microsoft have unfortunately stopped the ability for users to upgrade their hard drives. Gamers will need to buy a whole new console if they want more space. Sony has made it easier for gamers by giving them the ability to increase hard drive space as much as they like and when they like.
