Google Glass Specs Released

The Google Glass Photographer

Google Glass is coming guys, wearing mini-computers on our faces is becoming real - something which you'd only see in films. Google is now releasing more information about Glass, crucially it's specs.

Google Glass will have:

  • Adjustable nosepads to fit any face.
  • 'High Resolution' display which is equivalent to looking at a 25-inch HD display from 8 feet away.
  • A 5-megapixel camera that can shoot 720p video.
  • Bone conduction transducer for audio.
  • WiFi and Bluetooth.
  • 16GB of flash storage. Only 12GB actually usable. Connects to Google Drive for additional storage.
  • Battery typically lasts a day and is charged via Micro USB.
  • Works with any Bluetooth phone. Android gets a MyGlass companion app to connect to Glass for GPS and SMS.

As well as the specs being released, Google has also released the developer API and design guidelines when it comes to creating software for Glass.

No word on pricing but I don't think Google Glass will cost over $1000 as many are saying. They will be targeting consumers at some point and that will most likely bring the price down and most likely below $500.
