How To Split Posts Into Pages on WordPress

WordPress is full of hundreds of very useful features which makes it one of the most popular content management systems on the internet right now. This site runs on WordPress and so do many others including sites from CNN, BBC, TechCrunch, Mashable and many other big names.

Most WordPress users will know of the ability to make a "read more" button or link, which makes it easier not to fill up your homepage with content, and makes the reader continue on to the post page.

Many users don't know of the ability to split up posts though. You may see some sites which split long posts up, to make everything a little neater for content to load quicker. You may see it on sites like WIRED and the Guardian.

In WordPress you can split up posts by simply using this little shortcode:

Simple add that wherever you want to in the post and it'll split it into different pages. It's a great way to split up very long articles and even place text on one page and a gallery on the next.
