Discovering brilliant apps is the best part about having an iOS or Android device. Osmos is a game I just discovered which has been around for a while, I don’t know why I didn’t find it sooner.
It’s one of the most polished games on the iPad, with super smooth graphics and smooth music. I’ve yet to try it out on an Android tablet, if you have it, let me know in the comments if it works well.
The game is truly simplistic in nature and uses neat quotes to help you understand the game. You’re an organism in the game and your aim is to consume other smaller organisms around you to become the biggest. Of course at the beginning it’s pretty simple but as you progress you’ll come up against some challenging situations such as the one in the picture above. You’re in orbit around what I would describe as a sun or star and your aim is to consume other organisms around you.
The game features many different levels and an arcade mode. There is also a multiplayer mode which lets you play against people on the same WiFi network or against people on Game Center. It’s actually pretty fun because usually the aim is to consume the opponent.
It’s really one of the best games I’ve come across and is brilliant for ending a hectic day. With the smooth animations and relaxing music, it’s a very cool chill out game.
The game is £2.99 which is well worth it for something that has a high replay value.
