Nexus 4 Officially Announced

Google and LG have just announced the Nexus 4 officially.

Google have chosen LG to be this year’s manufacturer for their Android smartphone. This is the 4th generation Nexus device and Google seem to have simply named it Nexus 4.

The new device has a 4.7-inch 1280×720 IPS display, 1.5Ghz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, Android 4.2 Jellybean, 2GB RAM, 8MP rear facing camera, 1.3MP front facing camera, 2100mAh battery, wireless charging, NFC and will come in 8GB and 16GB variations.

The device’s specs are very similar to last years with a few minor upgrades. The major upgrade is wireless charging which will most definitely be a popular and neat feature in the Nexus 4.

It’s 9.1mm thick which isn’t as thin as some of the competition but that’s due to the huge battery and wireless charging most probably.

The device will be available via the Google Play store on 13th of November.

No info released on the pricing for the UK market but for the US it looks like the 8GB will only be $299 and the 16GB will be $349, which is very cheap. Hopefully UK prices will be low too.
