Marcio Kogan made this amazing house in São Paulo, Brazil. Majority of the house is made of concrete, with some wooden accents throughout. The mix of concrete and wood help emphasize that you do not need perfect materials to make a great looking house. The imperfections of the concrete and the knots of the wood open up to an x-ray type vision of the construction. Openness throughout the house creates a feeling of simplicity and grandeur. The ground floor is completely open, diluting the division between exterior and interior. Kogan stretched the entertainment room to allow for the irregularly shaped couch that takes up majority of the room. The top-level of the house is completely enclosed, creating a floating-box effect.
