Remember that awesome live action trailer for Ghost Recon back in 2010? Yes, it is still that cool. We love seeing companies take time out to create some pretty bad-ass videos like this, especially with such high production value. Two years later, we got word that there is going to be an actual live action short film based on the soldiers of the upcoming Ubisoft title, Ghost Recon Future Soldier. That announcement was then followed by another great trailer which demonstrated the deadly force that these future soldiers have at their disposal.
Now, we've got the full live action movie available online for you to watch right now. The 25 minute film is a prequel to the game and will take place immediately before a "key turning point" in the game's storyline.
There is some phenomenal talent in the team that developed the film. It was directed by Academy Award winners Hervé de Crécy and François Alaux, who won an Oscar in 2010 for Logorama. The script was written by Tim Sexton, Academy Award nominee for Children of Men, and Gregory Pruss.
The film was shot by District 9 cinematographer Trent Opaloch; edited by Pietro Scalia, two time Academy Award winner for Black Hawk Down and JFK; with sound effects and sound effects editing by Per Hallberg, two time Academy Award winner for The Bourne Ultimatum and Braveheart as well as Michael Mann’s Heat.
Production design by Jan Roelfs who worked on: Gattaca and Alexander. Costume design was lead by Sammy Sheldon V for Vendetta, Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class and Black Hawk Down. Last and definitely not least, weapons were designed by Military Weapons Specialist Harry Humphries, who was a consultant Transformers, Thor, Iron Man and Armageddon.
All of this for just a 25 minute film?! If that didn't convince you to watch this, nothing will.
