New Pinterest profile pages were coming soon, but no one knew exactly when. Well they're actually live right now.
The old Pinterest profile pages were good but definitely needed updating. The old pages were more concentrated on the pins and boards you have, instead of the individual you were.
With Pinterest becoming more and more like a social network, the developers I think have taken the idea of a social network and made the profiles more dominant around the actual owner of the page.
The first thing you see is a massive banner, with a huge profile picture, name in bold, occupation/caption, location, and links to other social profiles and websites. Then you are given the boards and pins. You can see how many boards the person has, how many things they've pinned, how many likes, look at their activity, who they're following and how many followers they have got.
The change is a very welcomed change and will I'm sure be accepted and hugely adopted by Pinterest users. No features have been taken away, it's more of a reorganisation, to make a profile...more personal.
