You want to watch TV, but the remote is out of reach: what do you do? Grab your laptop!
Thanks to a website called TVCatchup, you can watch live television from most Freeview channels in the UK on your computer. The website lets you select from the many channels available and stream them to your PC straight from your browser. The player is Flash based, but don’t worry about using it on your phone; you can do that too!
You do have to live through a few more ads – I know there are already too many – but as far as I know, you can’t get a better service for the job. The streams are exact copies of what you’d normally, delayed by a few minutes, so not only do you get the ads on the site which play before streaming a channel, but you also get the regular advertisements.
Aside from the ads, the service is very smooth, and is by far the best solution to watching live television on the internet without any sort of TV aerial.
Oh, and it’s free! All you need to do to get started is make an account and sign in. Then you can watch all the TV you want without the huge hassle of leaving your computer screen.
