For those who don’t know what Tilt Shift is, it is an effect which makes pictures look like toy models. You can find some fine examples of tilt shift with the Samsung Galaxy S2 here.
There are many apps out there which have the tilt shift kind of effect but I’ve found they don’t do it as well as TiltShift Generator. The app costs £0.69 ($0.99) and has got some great reviews on the app store. Features include:
- Edit original size pictures, no cutting down to smaller sizes. Obviously the larger the picture, the longer it will take to process.
- You get 3 different tilt shift blurs – radial, ellipse and linear.
- Contrast, saturation and vignetting controls.
Tilt shift effects I’ve found work best on pictures you take from high places, pointing down onto an area. You will find the best examples follow this sort of rule.
Here’s an example of one I did very recently.
