'Bouncer' To Take Down Malicious Android Apps

Apps on Android - wait, what?

Google has announced that they are searching for and taking down apps and games from the Android Market that appear to be malicious using a service called 'Bouncer.'

Google also claims that Bouncer has been around for a while and uses a couple of methods to track down malware, it scans all newly uploaded applications and also searches for malicious behaviour in existing apps on the market, on top of that, it also scans developer accounts.

Another thing we got to know was that malware in android apps has decreased by about 40% in 2011, which is a relief, considering the amount of malware and viruses that affect users of Google's OS.

Have you ever been affected by malware from the android market? Do you think 'Bouncer' is as useful as advertised?
