How To Design Android Apps…The Right Way

Google have at lasted released a very detailed and informative guide on how to design your Android apps to have consistency through out the whole Android experience.

Ever since the release of Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), Google have come hard (but not forcing) on telling developers to make the most of the Android tools and resources available and make beautiful Android apps which stay consistent throughout the OS.

Ice Cream Sandwich was completely redesigned to fit phones and tablets and was specifically made to fit any resolution. They even introduced a new font, Roboto, which has been specifically made for high resolution displays.

The guide covers things from typography to pattern styles, helping you design your apps if you don’t have any ideas for a fresh new design.

Remember this is all optional. Google is not enforcing it onto app developers like Apple does with iOS.
