Windows 8 looks to be a killer OS from what we've seen so far. One of the new features over previous OS versions is the Metro tiles layout, perfect for touch interfaces, but so far we have only seen a landscape desktop layout, not ideal for some types of content.
If you're planning to be running Windows 8 on a tablet, you may be pleased to hear that Windows 8 has screen resolution and size optimisation as well as portrait support. A button to lock the screen in either layout will be available, of course the main benefit of which is that you can read while laying sideways!
