Businesses which register their location with Google Maps will start to be charged by Google when they receive over 25,000 hits a day. This charge is set to be introduced from the 1st of January 2012.
Google Maps is a form of free advertisements for businesses. With Google Maps growing at a very quick rate, Google want to be able to charge for the service to help pay for it.
Only businesses which receive over 25,000 hits a day. Google says that only 0.35% of businesses receive this amount of hits.
The search giant is rumoured to charge $4 per 1000 hits when businesses hit the limit.
