Wonderputt - An Interactive Work Of Art Disguised As A Game

Don't be put off by the title of this post, it doesn't have that much to do with minigolf!

While you may find spending countless hours playing virtual minigolf to be enjoyable, I do not. That's why when I discovered Wonderputt I found it curious to find myself actually enjoy playing it.

To put it simply, Wonderputt is the best designed virtual minigolf game out there. Not only does it look attractive, but once you start playing it you will discover the hidden secrets of how 18 holes are crammed into the tiny floating island. The designer, Dampgnat, has not created a game, but an attractive and interactive work of art disguised as a game. It's clear that a lot of time has been spent designing the hole layout  and how each one is revealed, whether it be by stripping back a a layer of turf, firing a torpedo or launching a rocket into space.

Even now after I have played the game a hundred times I am fascinated by how so many holes have been crammed in. Watching the smooth animations and transitions is a delight as is coming back to gain new high scores and achievements. All these baked into a beautifully designed, free flash web browser game.
